This is what I call as "Hire the Fire and Fire the Hired".
Increase in demand has meant increase in supply(not necessarily quality and right attitude) , with companies hiring based on their parameters of the name of the institute and others mentioned. We have shorter cycles of employment and another cycle of recruitment.Krishnamurthy Thakurhttp://areyoulookingforachange.blogspot.com/2010/05/hire-fire-fire-hired.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20420492.post-89965697587250060922010-05-17T14:12:28.154+05:302010-05-17T14:12:28.154+05:30I think its not about the institute, its about the...I think its not about the institute, its about the right hire. Its not about attitude but aptitude that matters as per your organisational goals set for these students. Hiring is a responsibility, not a task just to complete or filling in numbers for the departments. Its not about getting people and filling positions. Its also at times about "creating" positions for the right set of people who can deliver and who are cut out for your kind of organisation & culture.

Neha Mehta
Sahara One
MumbaiNeha Mehtahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12552670673133143877noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20420492.post-55409189740279047802010-05-17T13:12:51.558+05:302010-05-17T13:12:51.558+05:30Dear Vinod,

You have finely pointed out the madness for candidates from branded institutes who cannot mostly fit into tailor made organizations. As the branded clothes and unbranded ones serve the same purpose, so does the candidates from branded institutes who are given overall exposure but have not gained expertise on any concepts useful for the effectiveness of the work assigned to them.

Corporates and business houses should shun the fancy towards hiring candidates from branded institutes alone and concentrate on hiring real talents they may be from branded institutes or unbranded too..

Good Post Vinod.

Regards,
Sri Manjari .VAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20420492.post-18215886129811917332010-05-15T06:28:30.245+05:302010-05-15T06:28:30.245+05:30Well, exactly right. I think before hiring talents from top universities. we, HR, should explain their career plan and our corporate culture to them. we know we need them for the future and we have to treat them properly but we have to remind that before them, we have many good loyal, experienced, and developed employee before them. so, HR also think about that.Sang Pencerahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06147161705776184318noreply@blogger.com
