My four latest books are very different from each other. Yet, each one reflects a part of my own journey — what I have observed, experienced, learnt and, in some cases, unlearnt.
The Leadership Mosaic: Reflections for the CEO Within You
This is probably the most unusual leadership book I have written. It is not a book of theories or another leadership model. It is a compilation of stories, parables, experiences, analogies and small observations from life and work.
I look at every story as a piece of a tile. One tile by itself may not mean much. But when you put many such pieces together, they create a larger picture. Leadership is also like that. It is not one quality or one competency. It is a mosaic of experiences, choices, failures, relationships, values, situations and reflections.
That is what this book is about, picking up these scattered pieces and seeing how they come together to create a more holistic understanding of leadership. You can open the book anywhere, read a story, pause for a while and perhaps find your own meaning in it.
My Reflections for the Inner Journey, Gentle Conversation With Inner Self
This book is very different. It comes from my spiritual journey and, more importantly, from what I have experienced because of that journey. I have written about the importance of a mentor and a Guru, Guru Krupa, karmic blocks, our behaviour in society, and overall how i found the purpose, happiness in the life and the meaning of certain spiritual practices and the essence of life.
These are not merely things I have read somewhere and converted into gyan. Many of these reflections come from my own experiences and from following these practices.
I have received immense benefit from this journey. I am still learning, but whatever I have understood and experienced, I felt like sharing it.
The book is therefore not an attempt to teach spirituality. It is simply an invitation to look within and explore the inner journey in one's own way.
Talent Imperatives
This is my small, practical book for people working in Talent Management and Learning & Development.
I have brought together different talent management models, L&D practices and some of the questions that HR professionals and business leaders commonly deal with.
The book is deliberately written in a question-and-answer format. It is not meant to be read like a long textbook. You can pick it up whenever you have a question, look for the relevant topic and use the ideas in your organisation.
My intention was simple, make it a ready reference guide for Talent Management and L&D. Something you can read quickly, refer to whenever required and, more importantly, implement.
माझ्या आठवणींचा कोलाज
And then comes the most personal one, माझ्या आठवणींचा कोलाज. This is my memoir, but not a conventional autobiography.
It is a collection of childhood memories, people, incidents and experiences that have stayed with me. Some are small incidents which may appear insignificant, but when I look back, they bring a smile and sometimes teach me something.
I have tried to write these memories with humour and simplicity.
Life, after all, is not remembered as a perfect chronological story. It is remembered in pieces, a face, a conversation, a journey, a mistake, a mischievous childhood incident, a friend, a teacher or something that happened many years ago.
These pieces together become our own collage of memories.
So, these four books are four different windows into my journey.
- One looks at leadership.
- One looks within.
- One helps you practise talent management.
- And one takes you back into memories.
I hope you will read them, not only as books written by me, but as conversations that may leave you with a thought, a question, a smile or perhaps a reflection of your own.
