Four Books. Four Different Journeys.

My four latest books are very different from each other. Yet, each one reflects a part of my own journey — what I have observed, experienced, learnt and, in some cases, unlearnt.

The Leadership Mosaic: Reflections for the CEO Within You

Kindle Format - The Leadership Mosaic
Print Format- The Leadership Mosaic

This is probably the most unusual leadership book I have written. It is not a book of theories or another leadership model. It is a compilation of stories, parables, experiences, analogies and small observations from life and work.

I look at every story as a piece of a tile. One tile by itself may not mean much. But when you put many such pieces together, they create a larger picture. Leadership is also like that. It is not one quality or one competency. It is a mosaic of experiences, choices, failures, relationships, values, situations and reflections.

That is what this book is about, picking up these scattered pieces and seeing how they come together to create a more holistic understanding of leadership. You can open the book anywhere, read a story, pause for a while and perhaps find your own meaning in it.

My Reflections for the Inner Journey, Gentle Conversation With Inner Self

This book is very different. It comes from my spiritual journey and, more importantly, from what I have experienced because of that journey. I have written about the importance of a mentor and a Guru, Guru Krupa, karmic blocks, our behaviour in society, and overall how i found the purpose, happiness in the life and the meaning of certain spiritual practices and the essence of life.

These are not merely things I have read somewhere and converted into gyan. Many of these reflections come from my own experiences and from following these practices.

I have received immense benefit from this journey. I am still learning, but whatever I have understood and experienced, I felt like sharing it.

The book is therefore not an attempt to teach spirituality. It is simply an invitation to look within and explore the inner journey in one's own way.

Talent Imperatives

This is my small, practical book for people working in Talent Management and Learning & Development.

I have brought together different talent management models, L&D practices and some of the questions that HR professionals and business leaders commonly deal with.

The book is deliberately written in a question-and-answer format. It is not meant to be read like a long textbook. You can pick it up whenever you have a question, look for the relevant topic and use the ideas in your organisation.

My intention was simple, make it a ready reference guide for Talent Management and L&D. Something you can read quickly, refer to whenever required and, more importantly, implement.

माझ्या आठवणींचा कोलाज

And then comes the most personal one, माझ्या आठवणींचा कोलाज. This is my memoir, but not a conventional autobiography.

It is a collection of childhood memories, people, incidents and experiences that have stayed with me. Some are small incidents which may appear insignificant, but when I look back, they bring a smile and sometimes teach me something.

I have tried to write these memories with humour and simplicity.

Life, after all, is not remembered as a perfect chronological story. It is remembered in pieces, a face, a conversation, a journey, a mistake, a mischievous childhood incident, a friend, a teacher or something that happened many years ago.

These pieces together become our own collage of memories.

So, these four books are four different windows into my journey.

  • One looks at leadership.
  • One looks within.
  • One helps you practise talent management.
  • And one takes you back into memories.

I hope you will read them, not only as books written by me, but as conversations that may leave you with a thought, a question, a smile or perhaps a reflection of your own.

How ai can help HR to transform the organization & make better decisions?

AI and hashtagtechnology are becoming a talking point for everyone. But the real question is, "are we truly clear about what we are looking for from it? Are we chasing efficiency, intelligence, replacement, or human evolution?"

I recently had a very thought-provoking conversation with Pulkit Joshi from HROne during the CHRO Mindset Podcast.

Technology will amplify intent. If our intent is unclear, technology will only amplify confusion at scale. Maybe it is time leaders pause and ask, Are we buying the product for features or outcome? Are we building technology for humans, or expecting humans to adapt to technology?

2026: The Year You Attract True Wealth — Inside First, Money Will Follow

Every January, we wake up with high hopes and big dreams. Suddenly, we all become very ambitious, very serious, and sometimes, very unrealistic:

  • “This year I will wake up at 5 a.m. every day!”

  • “This year I will exercise, meditate, read 52 books, and learn French!”

  • “This year I will finally be rich, fit, calm, and famous!”

By mid-January, most of these plans quietly vanish  often under a pile of emails, unfinished books, and maybe leftover sweets.

Why? Because most of us chase material wealth first. We think: “Get the money, and everything else will be fine.”

But here’s the truth that Krishna reveals in Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 16 — the real wealth comes first from within.

The Supreme Blueprint: Krishna’s Divine Wealth

Krishna, the Supreme Divine Personality, says:

"O scion of Bharat, these are the saintly virtues of those endowed with a divine nature fearlessness, purity of mind, steadfastness in spiritual knowledge, charity, control of the senses, sacrifice, study of the sacred books, austerity, and straightforwardness; non-violence, truthfulness, absence of anger, renunciation, peacefulness, restraint from fault-finding, compassion toward all living beings, absence of covetousness, gentleness, modesty, and lack of fickleness; vigor, forgiveness, fortitude, cleanliness, bearing enmity toward none, and absence of vanity."

26 qualities, all in one verse. It’s like Krishna handed us a treasure map for life, pointing to inner wealth the kind that naturally attracts material abundance, calm, respect, and joy.

Why Inner Wealth Precedes Material Wealth

Think of money like a magnet. It attracts people, opportunities, and resources — but a magnet only works if it has magnetic material inside it.

Without inner wealth:

  • Money slips away

  • Relationships crumble

  • Stress builds

  • Health declines

With inner wealth:

  • Money and opportunities flow naturally

  • Decisions feel effortless

  • You earn respect without forcing it

  • Life feels calmer, purposeful, and joyful

A story can illustrate this better.

The Story of Amit and Rohan

Two friends graduated together, Amit and Rohan. Both were talented, ambitious, and equally smart.

  • Rohan focused on making money fast. Fancy car, big house, flashy life. Stress followed him everywhere.

  • Amit focused on cultivating inner qualities: clarity, discipline, humility, compassion. He stayed calm, treated people well, and served without expecting returns.

Five years later, Rohan had material possessions but on EMIs, but Amit had:

  • Peace of mind

  • Sustainable income

  • Strong relationships

  • Respect and trust

Moral: Inner wealth is the soil; material wealth is the fruit. Plant the soil well first.

Simplifying 26 Qualities into Six Divine Wealth Categories

26 qualities sound overwhelming. To make them practical, we group them into six core types of divine wealth for 2026:

Type of Divine Wealth

Key Qualities

What It Leads To

1. Clarity & Inner StrengthFearlessness, Purity of Mind, Steadfastness in Knowledge, VigorConfidence, decisiveness, calm under pressure
2. Self-Mastery & DisciplineControl of Senses, Sacrifice, Study of Scriptures, Austerity, StraightforwardnessFocus, consistency, wise choices
3. Ethical & Moral WealthNon-violence, Truthfulness, Absence of Anger, Renunciation, Peacefulness, Restraint from Fault-findingTrustworthiness, reputation, meaningful relationships
4. Compassion & HumanityCompassion, Absence of Covetousness, Gentleness, ModestyCollaboration, goodwill, strong networks
5. Equanimity & ResilienceLack of Fickleness, Forgiveness, Fortitude, Cleanliness, Bearing Enmity Toward NoneEmotional stability, resilience, balanced responses
6. Purposeful ContributionCharity, Sacrifice, Study, Austerity, StraightforwardnessMeaningful impact, natural success, leadership through service

1. Clarity & Inner Strength

Krishna emphasizes fearlessness, purity of mind, steadfastness in knowledge, and vigor.

People with these qualities walk through storms calmly. They make decisions clearly and act without hesitation.

Imagine walking in thick fog. If you have no compass, every step feels risky. But if you have a compass and a clear destination, fog becomes just a backdrop.

Clarity and fearlessness are your compass and courage.

2026 Goal:
“Before making decisions, I will pause, reflect, and act from clarity, not impulse.”

2. Self-Mastery & Discipline

Krishna lists control of senses, sacrifice, study of scriptures, austerity, and straightforwardness as divine qualities.

Discipline here isn’t punishment; it’s selective nourishment for your life.

One gardener planted seeds everywhere but watered them randomly. Nothing grew.
Another gardener planted fewer seeds, watered consistently, and protected plants from pests.
Result? A flourishing garden.

Discipline and focus produce results, like water and care produce growth.

2026 Goal:
“I will maintain one daily habit that strengthens my body, mind, or knowledge.”

3. Ethical & Moral Wealth

Qualities like non-violence, truthfulness, absence of anger, renunciation, peacefulness, and restraint from fault-finding make you trustworthy and respected.

Unethical success is like building a castle on sand impressive at first, but shaky underneath.

A manager once chose honesty over a quick shortcut, even though it could cost him a deal.
Years later, his reputation attracted bigger opportunities than any shortcut ever could.

2026 Goal:
“I will speak the truth, act honestly, and avoid gossip or negativity.”

4. Compassion & Humanity

Krishna highlights compassion, absence of covetousness, gentleness, and modesty.

Compassion isn’t weak; it builds networks, collaboration, and goodwill.

A CEO never raised his voice, even under pressure. His team didn’t just follow him — they worked with him. Clients trusted him instinctively.

2026 Goal:
“I will perform one act of kindness daily without expecting anything in return.”

5. Equanimity & Resilience

Qualities such as lack of fickleness, forgiveness, fortitude, cleanliness, and bearing enmity toward none help you stay balanced in crises.

Equanimity isn’t indifference; it’s peaceful firmness.

A stock trader, calm during market crashes, made better decisions than panicked colleagues. Peace of mind became his secret edge.

2026 Goal:
“I will pause before reacting in frustration and practice forgiveness consciously.”

6. Purposeful Contribution

Finally, Krishna emphasizes charity, sacrifice, study, austerity, and straightforwardness as keys to a life of impact.

Money that comes without contribution is temporary. Money that comes because you serve is stable and multiplying.

A young entrepreneur focused on serving customers genuinely before expecting profit. Within months, clients returned, referrals grew, and profits rose naturally.

2026 Goal:
“I will focus on creating value for others before expecting rewards.”

Daily 5-Minute Divine Wealth Practice

You don’t need hours in meditation. Five minutes is enough:

  1. Clarity: Write your north star for today.

  2. Discipline: Identify one habit to execute consistently.

  3. Ethics: Decide where honesty matters most today.

  4. Compassion: Perform one small act of kindness.

  5. Equanimity: Take three deep breaths before reacting.

  6. Contribution: Ask, “How can I add value today?”

Do this every morning, and watch 2026 transform.

A manager worked 12-hour days chasing deals. Stress was constant. Health deteriorated. Relationships suffered. Material gains existed, but happiness did not.

Lesson: Without inner wealth, material success is shallow and stressful.

Life Bank Account

Think of divine wealth as a bank account you cannot see:

  • Deposits: Fearlessness, clarity, discipline, compassion, integrity

  • Withdrawals: Anger, envy, pride, laziness, greed

The more deposits you make, the stronger your life magnet becomes.

Key Takeaways for 2026

  1. Don’t chase money first — cultivate inner wealth first.

  2. Measure success by qualities, not possessions.

  3. Focus on six divine wealth types: clarity, discipline, ethics, compassion, equanimity, contribution.

  4. Daily practice matters — small, consistent steps create massive change.

Final Thought

Material wealth is the shadow of divine wealth. When your inner light shines:

  • Calmness follows

  • Respect follows

  • Opportunities follow

  • Money follows

As Krishna says:

"Those endowed with divine qualities enjoy eternal peace, success, and fulfillment."

2026 can be your year of true wealth — inside first, everywhere else naturally.

Power and Politics - In The New Technological Age

Power and politics are inescapable forces within any organization. They shape interactions, influence decisions, and define the dynamics of leadership and teamwork. Understanding their nature is critical, especially in today’s technology-driven world, where data, expertise, and influence intersect in unprecedented ways. Let’s explore how these elements manifest, their impact on organizational behavior, and why they matter more than ever in the age of new technology.

The Anatomy of Power and Politics

At its core, power is the ability to influence outcomes, while politics is the art of wielding that influence to achieve personal or collective goals. These dynamics are not inherently negative, but they can turn toxic when driven by insecurity, incompetence, or mistrust. I have seen a leader who joined a new company. Eager to establish authority but uncertain of his footing, he started viewing current employees with suspicion. What followed is a cascade of micromanagement, manipulation, dividing the team and the introduction of loyal—but sometimes less competent—new hires.

Such behavior stems from a leader’s inability to confidently define his/her role, leading to rely on divisive tactics rather than fostering trust and collaboration.

This scenario is all too common. Insecure leaders tend to "play power" excessively, using politics as a tool to secure their position rather than to advance the organization’s goals. But it’s not just leaders who engage in organizational politics—peers and team members can also contribute to the fray. Gossip, cliques, and subtle power plays emerge when individuals seek to protect their interests or gain an edge. Often, this begins with a leader’s own tactics, such as "divide and rule," which sows discord and erodes team cohesion.

The Sources of Power in a Digital Era

Power in organizations comes from multiple sources, and the rise of technology has amplified their complexity. Traditionally, power stems from position—your title or rank grants you authority. It can also arise from expertise, where specialized knowledge sets you apart. Another source is familiarity—knowing the organization, its people, and its unwritten rules can make someone a formidable player.

“In the new technological age, however, data has emerged as a game-changer. As the saying goes, "Data is the new oil." Those who control, interpret, or leverage data hold immense power. In a world where information flows faster than ever, understanding systems, networks, and analytics can elevate an individual’s influence far beyond their formal role. This shift has democratized power to some extent—technical experts, data analysts, and even savvy team members can challenge traditional hierarchies by wielding knowledge that others lack.

The Double-Edged Sword of Organizational Politics

Politics, when used constructively, can drive innovation and progress. A leader who navigates alliances skillfully might secure resources for a groundbreaking project. A team member who builds a strong network could advocate for meaningful change. Yet, the dark side of politics—manipulation, mistrust, and micromanagement—creates a toxic culture that stifles creativity and productivity.

Take the earlier example of the insecure leader. By enforcing his authority through control rather than competence, he alienate employees and breed resentment. The organization suffers as talent disengages or departs, and the leader’s reliance on loyal but underqualified allies weakens overall performance. In contrast, a confident leader who empowers his/her team, values expertise, and uses data to inform decisions can transform politics into a force for good.

Navigating Power and Politics in the Tech Age

In today’s landscape, where artificial intelligence, automation, and digital platforms dominate, the stakes of power and politics are higher. Leaders must adapt to a workforce that values transparency and autonomy, while also mastering the tools that define modern influence—be it data analytics, social networks, or technological fluency. The ability to balance authority with collaboration is key. Meanwhile, employees must recognize that power isn’t just top-down; it’s also lateral, rooted in skills and relationships.

To thrive, organizations need cultures that harness power and politics constructively. This means rewarding competence over loyalty, encouraging open communication, and ensuring that data and technology empower rather than divide. Leaders should focus on building trust, not just asserting dominance, while team members should leverage their expertise to contribute meaningfully rather than compete destructively.

Power and politics are timeless elements of human interaction, but the new technological age has reshaped how they play out. Data is king, expertise is currency, and influence is no longer confined to corner offices. Whether it’s a leader grappling with insecurity or a team navigating internal rivalries, the choices made in wielding power define an organization’s success or failure. In this era of rapid change, understanding and mastering these dynamics isn’t just important—it’s essential. By embracing transparency, competence, and collaboration, we can turn power and politics from sources of conflict into drivers of progress.

Leadership in Society

I had the privilege of speaking at the Young Inspirators Network (YIN) conference of Sakal Media Group, where I addressed students on the “Society First” approach and leadership.

Leadership is not about titles, positions, or power—it’s about behaviors, responsibility, and the impact we create. True leaders think beyond personal success and focus on how their actions benefit society.

In today’s world, we need leaders who:

Take ownership of problems and find solutions.

Encourage collaboration instead of division.

Empower others rather than just seeking authority.

When we put society first, we build trust, drive positive change, and create a better future for everyone.

I was truly inspired by the energy and ideas of young minds at YIN. The future of leadership looks bright!

I also got the opportunity to facilitate another speaker MR. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister- Skills, Employment and Entrepraunership, Maharashtra State.

Wishing You a Mindful and Purposeful New Year

As we welcome the New Year, let us take a moment to reflect on the true nature of time. As the calendar turns and we step into another year, it’s a time for both reflection and renewal. Indian scriptures teach us that time is infinite and constant. It does not move; it simply exists. We humans measure time in years, months, and days to understand our journey, but in reality, time remains still.

“In this grand universe, our existence is tiny, like a drop in the ocean. Think about this: How many of us know the name of our great-grandparents? For most, the answer is no. This shows how quickly time erases memories. In two or three generations, we too may be forgotten. Yet, what will remain is the impact we leave through our actions and kindness.

This is not a reason to despair but a call to action. Life is too short to waste on complaints, grudges, or regret. Mistakes are inevitable — they are part of the human experience. What matters is how we respond:

  • Do we learn from our errors or remain trapped in them?
  • Do we extend gratitude for the blessings we have, or do we focus on what’s missing?
  • Do we forgive others and ourselves, or do we carry the weight of resentment?

By living mindfully and embracing each moment with intention, we can create a ripple effect of positivity that outlives us.

Unfortunately, in today’s world, many are caught in a race — a race for power, money, and more. Their greed becomes endless. In the corporate world, we often see people sacrificing their personal lives, relationships, and health for success. They work tirelessly, ignoring their families and their own well-being, only to realize, as time flies, that they have lost what truly matters. In the end, they too perish, leaving behind nothing but regrets.

Life is too short for complaints, grudges, or chasing temporary achievements. Mistakes happen, but they are part of life’s lessons. What truly matters is how we live mindfully, learn from our errors, and show gratitude. Forgive others and yourself, and focus on making a positive impact on your life and others’.

In the infinite stillness of time, it is our actions that give meaning to our existence. Let this year be a reminder to live with purpose, humility, and mindfulness. Make an impact, not for recognition, but because it is the right thing to do. And as we do, let us remember that life is not just about what we achieve but about how we touch the lives of those around us.

May this New Year bring you peace, growth, and the joy of meaningful connections. Let us walk this path together, grounded in gratitude and guided by the timeless wisdom of our ancestors.

Happy New Year! May it be a year of mindful living and purposeful action.

This New Year, let us also resolve to live meaningfully. Success is important, but balance is essential. Appreciate life, be present, and stay grounded. Time may be still, but our actions can create ripples that make life fulfilling and beautiful.

Happy New Year!
